New video Music Video Night @ SXSW ft. Buddy | Mass Appeal on @YouTube

Via Mass Appeal

Music Video Night made its SXSW debut featuring iAmOther recording artist Buddy. The Compton-born rapper took the audience at Austin’s Blanton Museum of Art through his catalogue of cinematic music videos, featuring direction by Jason Beattie, Ken Koller, Andy Hines, Grams, and even Buddy’s own father.

We kicked things off with an obscure ‘Flava in Ya Ear’ freestyle video from 2009, the track that first caught Pharrell’s attention and landed him his first deal at iAmOther. Buddy gave us the backstory on the creative approach to each visual and even FaceTimed director Andy Hines, who spoke to the audience live from his car somewhere in Canada. Buddy spoke about working with the likes of Mike Epps, Mike & Keys, Kaytranada and A$AP Ferg, who’s featured in his latest “vertical video” entitled “Black.” Check all the action above and follow @MusicVideoNight to hear about their next event.
